The METTA Method

Performance is Profoundly Personal

Sustainable professional success comes from people with strong foundations: enlightened personal awareness, a clear view ahead, and inspired desire to move forward.

Transformation Through Inspiration

Blending psychology with intentional, athletic-style coaching, METTA helps clients find foundational fitness through individual enlightenment and inspired practice.

A New Balance

By partnering deeply with individuals – coaching, not directing – we lay the foundation for ownable, sustainable personal growth and high performance that balances the professional and personal demands of life.

The Foundation of Sustainable Performance

An Ownable, Personal Process with a Holistic, Humanistic Approach

Performance begins with self-awareness. By engaging individuals with powerful questions and actually listening, we enlighten and equip individuals with functional insights about themselves. This awareness illuminates their path to efficiency and productivity through less anxiety, ego, and lower barriers to communication.

» Structural Thinking

Awareness informs action, and action needs direction to create traction.  What is our first step? Where are we going? By engaging critically on challenges, and being clear about goals and priorities, we create a transparent decision-making structure that works for individuals and teams. By pulling out the stories we tell ourselves and tackling them head on, we create space and clarity for deliberate, confident action that gets results: traction.

» Ownable Process =
Ownable Progress

We inspire it, you own it. We believe that the role of a coach is to guide and inspire, not to lead or demand. Our role is to illuminate your perspective, and support your journey. Armed with new self awareness and a clear way forward, we support you with personalized, inspiring practice plans and supportive on-demand consultation.

Michael Seiler

Co-Founder & Coach

Michael Seiler combines a background of 30 years in a variety of industries with experience as a high-level endurance athlete for a unique perspective to the path to success.

Michael works with organizations, teams, and individuals to support the development of sustainable high performance. His approach is hugely practical, harnessing the simple (but not easy) ingredients of what it takes to deliver sustained success.

Michael has over thirty years in the corporate world in a variety of roles and industries including human resources, television and healthcare. For over 20 years, Michael led digital strategy initiatives to solve consumer problems. Michael is also a serial entrepreneur who has founded successful companies in e-commerce, digital strategy and endurance coaching.

Throughout his career he has established a proven track record in coaching high performance teams and is regularly sought out as a mentor. He feels the role of a leader is to coach not direct.

As a collegiate soccer player turned endurance athlete, Michael became fascinated with leading and coaching athletes. He founded Stage22 Performance – an endurance coaching and bike fitting company – in 2017. In 2022, he co-founded Metta Endurance with his coach, Holly Benner, to help athletes achieve their best performance in sports and life while building sustainability and durability in alignment with their values.

He is a USA Cycling, Level 2 certified coach and Enlifted Method, Level 2 certified mindset coach. He coaches National Champions, Age-groupers as well as CEOs and emerging leaders.

After 30+ years of coaching teams and individuals, he has seen that many of the key factors of high performance are the same whether you are in athletics or the boardroom and yet, most people and companies have not caught on. He truly believes everyone is an athlete and achieving high performance requires a balance of mind, body and soul. This is where the value of having a coach comes into play.

The majority of his coaching work (and the most rewarding) is helping people with their mindset. He believes that mindset is the story we tell ourselves about ourselves. Helping athletes and professionals develop the tools to reframe those stories creates the pathway for high performance that is also sustainable.

Michael lives in Louisville, KY and enjoys getting outdoors with his wife and family, writing and performing songs, and continues to be active in bike racing and running.

Sean Luitjens

Coach

Sean Luitjens represents the endurance OG and brings over 35 years and 300 events of triathlon, ultra, & adventure racing experience to Metta Performance, and more importantly a love of playing & hanging outside with good humans.

To subsidize his outdoor playtime, and pay a few bills, by day he is a developer turned business line leader in the SaaS software space, and will be holding onto those nerd genes as long as possible.  He currently lives and plays in the Berkshires of Western MA when not checking out new places to explore.

From a coaching perspective he truly enjoys helping people explore new boundaries whether that is initially breaking into triathlon tackling that first event or graduating to a new distance goal.
